My Life, My Mind

As most of the teens growing up in small towns of India, Anil opted for Science and completed postgraduation in Chemistry. And grabbed the first job as Lecturer in Engineering college. (Though he disliked Engineering as student.] He has interest in theatre but had no idea what to do about it. Like all teens who take part in theatre and wanted to be an actor, he too thought he has "it" in him. Fortunately, he wasn't offered any role, though he made an effort to meet his favourite writer on the sets of Mirza Ghalib. Indian Film industry thus lost a budding actor. LOL. More rejections on the way as he was studying theatre in Nagpur, but that "keeda" was not ready to die. With a degree in Theatre and Chemistry, he landed up in Mumbai, again working as Lecturer. Here he met like-minded people and took baby steps towards directing and writing plays. Opportunities came on the way and he kept on making the best out of them. Seeing one's plays being performed at Prithvi and NCPA made him feel confident. And then he quit teaching and plunged into ... Well, he dived into unknown. Well, things happen in life and he got an opportunity as promo writer when Star Plus was being reborn. Soon there was KBC and Kyunki. He stayed there, learnt the job online. Life moved on. And when Colors Channel was being launched he got the best of opportunity to give his best. Things happen sometimes. Sometimes they don't. Writing launch promos for iconic shows, Balika Vadhu, Uttaran, Na aana is desh laado, writing lyrics for shows like Uttaran, he got the next big opportunity to write dialogues for the show. And he stayed there with the show till its exit after 6 years, writing other shows, translating plays.... Feeling frustrated at times with TV. In his own words.

Not unhappy... Not happy.... Journey continues to explore new areas, new avenues in the world of writing.
Working with producers like Rupali And Kalyan Guha, Shashi Summet Mittal, Mitali Bhattacharya in TV, and Ashvin gidvani, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Prashant Dalvi, Mahesh Dattani in theatre, he kept on taking baby steps to do more and meaningful work.
Being a part of writing team of Hamlet with Prashant Dalvi was a big moment of realisation, expectation and enthusiasm to take another dive into the unknow.
Things would happen soon.
